Wanted Providence Man Jailed Following Traffic Stop: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A wanted Providence man was arrested and jailed following a traffic stop, police said.

Emmanuel Rivera, 42, was pulled over on Westminster Avenue in Providence and arrested shortly before 1:45 a.m. Sunday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Rivera was arrested on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in court for cases of resisting legal or illegal arrest, possession of a controlled substance and driving with suspended license, the release said.

Rivera was processed at state police headquarters and then taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men's Intake Center, according to the release.
