• Property Reassessment Notices Begin Mailing Friday (kool1027.com) — Kershaw County property owners will start receiving reassessment notices in the mail beginning Friday, June 12, which show updated market and taxable values but are not tax bills. If you disagree with your new value, you’ll have 90 days to file a written appeal with the Assessor’s Office, either by mail or in person at 515 Walnut Street in Camden. 
• Man arrested after multi-day domestic violence standoff ends in Camden (wltx.com) — A tense multi-day domestic violence situation in Camden ended peacefully Wednesday when law enforcement persuaded a local man to surrender after a standoff on White Oak Road. Deputies say the victim escaped the home with visible injuries and reported being held and assaulted for days. Kershaw County’s Special Response Team, Camden Police, and SLED coordinated to resolve the incident without further injuries.
