• 2026 Class 5A-D1 Boys Golf Championship (schsl.org) — High school golf fans will see the 2026 Class 5A-D1 Boys Golf Championship played at Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club on Shaftesbury Lane in Conway this May. The two-day tournament starts May 11 at 8 a.m., bringing teams from across South Carolina to compete on a local course with some added perks like potential PGA event access.
   

• Man arrested for engaging 4 and 5-year-old girls in sexual performance, police say (wpde.com) — Police say a man has been arrested after two very young children were allegedly victimized at a home on Bonnie Lane in the Conway area, and he is now being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Authorities report the incidents happened over several days in February and emphasize the case involves serious charges related to sexual performance of a minor.
   

• Loris teen pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter in uncle's killing (wpde.com) — An 18-year-old from Loris has been sentenced under the Youthful Offender Act after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in his uncle’s 2025 shooting death in Horry County. Prosecutors say the killing stemmed from mishandling a gun, and they referenced a separate Conway shooting case as related background while explaining why they felt the sentence fit the evidence.
