Incumbents keep seats as County Council, SC House primaries decided in York County (postandcourier.com) — Fort Mill–area residents will keep their current representation on York County Council after incumbent Debi Cloninger won the Republican primary for District 7, which includes part of Fort Mill. Other York County races also favored incumbents, with Tommy Adkins holding District 3 and state Reps. David Martin and John King advancing, while Justin Bennett won the Democratic primary for House District 47.

Latest Rock Hill region projects: Huge logistics site, more townhomes and a school (heraldonline.com) — New development is headed to Fort Mill, with 57 townhomes approved for Coltharp Road and a Dash In restaurant, gas station, and car wash moving forward at Highway 160 and Dam Road. Regional projects in Rock Hill, Indian Land, and Lake Wylie round out a busy slate of growth around York County.

Enoch Ibarra of Fort Mill Graduates from Rhodes College (tegacaysun.com) — A Fort Mill resident, Enoch Ibarra, has earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Rhodes College in Memphis, marking a proud academic milestone for the community. The May 16 commencement awarded more than 400 degrees across several programs at the nationally ranked liberal arts college.

College of Charleston Awards Spring Degrees to York and Lancaster County Graduates (yoconews.com) — Fort Mill families have plenty to celebrate as dozens of local students earned College of Charleston degrees this spring, more than any other nearby town. The long list of Fort Mill graduates spans biology, business, education, arts, and more, with many achieving Latin honors that recognize top academic performance.
