Georgetown mayor to host forum aimed at helping residents lower electric bills (counton2.com) — Georgetown residents can get practical help lowering their electric bills at a city-hosted forum led by Mayor Jay Doyle this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the municipal courtroom on Highmarket Street. City staff and partners like Santee Cooper and Habitat for Humanity will explain energy-saving tips, free classes, and how to qualify for home energy audits and weatherization assistance.

Bill Ringer advances in Georgetown County Council District 6 primary over Stella Mercado (wpde.com) — Georgetown County voters in District 6 chose Bill Ringer over Stella Mercado in Tuesday’s primary, with Ringer earning about two-thirds of the vote. Ringer, who emphasized grassroots support and the future of the Waccamaw Neck, will now face Democrat Vincent Davis in the November general election for the county council seat.
