• Boater missing after boat collides with log on the Waccamaw River (counton2.com) — Emergency crews are searching the Waccamaw River in Murrells Inlet after a boat hit a log and one person, not wearing a life vest, went underwater and remains missing. Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire Rescue, Horry County police, and a dive team are operating near the Longwood Drive and Blackmoor boat landing area.
   

• Horry County Coroner's office identifies body of missing boater (myhorrynews.com) — Authorities have identified the Aynor man who died after falling from a boat near Murrells Inlet, where multiple agencies searched Prince Creek following a crash behind Longwood Drive. Murrells Inlet–Garden City Fire-Rescue and state natural resources officers recovered his body Thursday, and investigators say foul play is not suspected as they continue reviewing what led to the accident.
   

• As summer winds down, Myrtle Beach preps for its fall bike rally. What to know (myrtlebeachonline.com) — Motorcyclists and visitors can expect Myrtle Beach’s 2026 Fall Bike Rally to again stretch vendor action and cruising routes all the way down to Murrells Inlet. Running Sept. 25–Oct. 4, the event will feature popular biker bars plus social‑media star Tom the Mime as grand marshal, with details on his appearances still to come.
