If you don’t respond, expect reminder letters and possibly a visit from census takers or trained postal workers starting in June.

As SC enters severe drought, Spartanburg Water asks Landrum customers to cut back (postandcourier.com) — Spartanburg Water is asking its Landrum-area customers to immediately cut back on water use as South Carolina enters a severe drought, though other Spartanburg Water customers aren’t yet affected. Officials say local streams lack reservoir backup, so they’re urging residents and businesses to fix leaks, limit irrigation, and follow specific indoor and outdoor conservation steps to protect supplies.
   

3. Condemned SC inmate who believes he's died repeatedly can't be executed, judge rules (newsfromthestates.com) — A Spartanburg-based Circuit Court judge has ruled that a death row inmate is currently too mentally ill to be executed, after expert testimony at a recent hearing in the Spartanburg County Courthouse. The decision, now headed to the state Supreme Court, highlights how local courts are shaping South Carolina’s renewed use of the death penalty.
   

4. After nearly 1,000 cases, here's how South Carolina officials beat back a measles outbreak (wbal.com) — Spartanburg was the epicenter of a major measles outbreak that has now officially ended after six months and nearly 1,000 cases, thanks to aggressive vaccination drives and quarantine efforts. Local doctors and state health officials describe how thousands of extra MMR shots in Spartanburg County and strong community cooperation helped stop further spread and raise awareness about immunizations.
   

5.
