Today's Deadwood Patch AM is brought to you in part by T-Mobile. After investing billions to light up their network from big cities to small towns, T-Mobile is America's best mobile network in the US, according to Ookla Speedtest. We thank T-Mobile for their support in helping to keep communities like ours connected and for making today's Deadwood Patch AM possible.

• USD archeologists rediscovering the women of Soap Suds Row (sdpb.org) — Deadwood plays a quiet but important role in a new archeological dig near Sturgis, where USD researchers are uncovering artifacts from the laundresses of historic Soap Suds Row. Backed in part by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, students are painstakingly sifting soil to recover buttons, stove pieces, and clothing clips that reveal the daily lives of these overlooked women. Their work is expanding Black Hills history and showing how local support can bring buried stories to light.

• Sanford School of Medicine Student Receives the Class of 2027 Outstanding Community Project Award (usd.edu) — A recent Sanford School of Medicine winter conference in Deadwood highlighted a student project improving pregnancy loss care for rural families, especially around Mobridge. The award-winning effort created remembrance walks, care kits, and better clinical guidance, and it’s now being sustained locally. It’s a reminder that statewide medical training and innovation still regularly pass through Deadwood.
