• Terwee to retire, Garretson School teacher negotiations ongoing (garretsongazette.com subscription) — Garretson School Board confirmed all current teachers will receive contract renewals while negotiations with the Garretson Teachers Association continue, and noted driver’s education won’t run this year due to no instructor. Board members also recognized longtime middle school reading teacher Andrew Terwee, who will retire after 26 years, and heard updates on the GHS Marching Band’s recent western trip.
   

• GHS History Club qualifies for Nationals (garretsongazette.com) — Garretson High School’s History Club has qualified all three of its teams for the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C. this June and is now fundraising so every student can afford to attend. Several groups earned state championships or top placements, and organizers are seeking local sponsors to help cover travel costs for these Garretson students.
