• Spink County Equalization – Notice of CAFO Hearing Permit (aberdeeninsider.com) — A major livestock proposal affecting Spink County will be discussed at a public hearing in the Redfield courthouse on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Officials will consider a temporary permit for a 16,832-head swine operation, and Redfield-area residents can attend or submit written comments to the Equalization Office on 7th Avenue.
   

• Gary Newman, 84 (hubcityradio.com) — Redfield is mourning longtime resident and former Spink County Sheriff Gary LeRoy Newman, who passed away Tuesday at Community Memorial Hospital in town. Friends and neighbors can pay respects at Hyke Funeral Home this evening and at his funeral service Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.
