Children's Books on Good Character

Miss Joni had a lovely time at the 2nd Annual Author Fest at the Nashville Fairgrounds yesterday! Did you stop by to say, 'hello?" Characters of Character NFP had their children's books and activity boxes on display, plus, we had all the nine characters hanging in the front table for you to vote on. Can you guess which character was the most popular?

It was Behavior Bear! It actually makes sense because we focus on our early learners and elementary aged children and behavior is something that is taught pretty early in a child's life.

I truly enjoyed watching adults walk by and smiling at our table with all the fun colors and books on display. When they came up to our table we asked them and their children to vote for their favorite character! I introduced each one of the nine characters and some did not even hesitate to vote, while others really pondered over each one of the characters. We loved meeting everyone and sharing stories about our children and the lessons to teach good character. Here is a simple tip:

We all know that kids don't come with a manual, and as parents, we do the best that we can. I know that when I was a young parent I'd say to our kids, "Behave yourself when you are by grandma's house" and today, I ask myself, "What does it mean to have good behavior?" With that said, explain to your children what good behavior looks like in your home, what it sounds like in your home and of course, be a role model for your children.

Plus, we are on a social media challenge!

As you can imagine, funding has been a challenge to receive in the nonprofit world & this year has been extra rough. We're turning to social media to try to raise at least $12,732 before the end of the year.We've seen social media do incredible things & we know that when people see the good that we do & the difference that we make they will join our cause & help support our mission.
