Chris Stapleton Supports Local Nonprofit

Imagine being a child in the hospital or going to the Emergency Room, or being the parent of that child. It is scary! I've been there myself. Hi, I'm Miss Joni the creator of Characters of Character NFP and in 2021 we discovered the need and impact that our Superhero Character Building activity boxes have on our children in the hospital and it has become our main project for our organizaiton.

We have seen and heard first hand that these Superhero boxes give children something positive to focus on, helping take their minds off fear, procedures, or long waits. Our organization’s purpose is to bring comfort, hope, and positive character development to children and a child facing the hospital is no different than one in a classroom or the community. We do this by providing engaging, age appropriate character building resources that encourage kindness, perseverance, confidence, and emotional well being during a challenging time in their lives.

Characters of Character serves pediatric patients in hospitals, with a focus on children who may be experiencing stress, fear, long hospital stays, or limited access to enrichment and social emotional learning opportunities. By meeting children where they are, at the bedside, or in the ER, we help support not only their emotional health but also their sense of normalcy, empowerment, and joy while they heal.

A huge thank you to Chris Stapleton and the Outlaw State of Kind for their generosity It is a rough first half of the year with donations and grants and we are extremely grateful to be sending 40 superhero character building activity boxes to Monroe Carell Jr Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt We’ve got them ready to be delivered and our hearts are happy knowing the positive impact they’re about to make on the kiddos at the children hospital Thank you Chris, Outlaw State of Kind, and everyone involved in helping make this happen - we appreciate you!

I had the opportunity to meet Chris Stapleton a few years ago at a Holiday Tour Bus Fundraiser for children in Hendersonville and it was a highlight in my life! We stood in the rain and cold and couldn't believe it when it was actually him standing in his bus, I just hugged him! Sorry Chris, my husband still laughs and tells me you know, he can put a restraining order on you, haha, we laugh because I'm old enough to be his mom for goodness sakes, he is just a gifted talent, he and his wife, and to meet him was thrill!
