• Quillin, Hardy selected as All-Americans (chestercountyindependent.com) — Two standout players from Henderson’s Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion softball team have been named All-Americans, capping a strong 2026 season. Senior hitter Karli Quillin earned a second-team spot, while home run record-setter Myleah Hardy made the third team after being named Mid-South Conference Player of the Year.
   

• Freed-Hardeman hosts Tennessee DataFest, wins two of three top awards (chestercountyindependent.com) — Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson recently hosted the inaugural Tennessee DataFest, drawing student teams from multiple countries and winning two of the three top awards. Local FHU students, including a Henderson native, impressed judges with their data analysis, while faculty and community volunteers helped make the weekend-long competition a success. Organizers already hope to expand the event in 2027.
