• Community Foundation of West Tennessee seeks nominations for 2026 Jackson Awards (wbbjtv.com) — Nominations are now open for the 2026 Jackson Awards, honoring residents who strengthen life in Jackson and Madison County, and you can submit names through June 30. Winners in arts, education, healthcare, leadership, and volunteer service will be celebrated at the Community Foundation of West Tennessee’s Charity Gala on November 14, with online and in-person options to nominate your local heroes. 
• New Tennessee laws expand property owner rights, tighten immigration enforcement (wbbjtv.com) — New statewide laws taking effect July 1 will impact Jackson residents’ property rights, school curricula, immigration enforcement and emergency pregnancy care. From expanded legal protection for using force against intruders to new requirements on teaching religion’s role in history and child trafficking awareness, the measures could change how local schools, hospitals and agencies operate.
