• Changes coming to high school basketball: Shot clock, rankings for state tournaments (clarksvillenow.com) — High school basketball fans in Mount Juliet should know that TSSAA has approved a statewide shot clock, to be fully in place by the 2029-30 season, and new RPI-based seeding for state tournaments starting in 2027-28. These changes will speed up games, scrap the five-second closely guarded rule, and reshape how teams are ranked for the trip to Murfreesboro. Local programs will need to adjust strategy and scheduling.
