• The Dog Who Helped Them Connect (aldineisd.org) — Students in a specialized classroom at Carmichael Elementary in Aldine ISD are bonding, communicating, and learning in new ways thanks to Jameson, a highly trained facility dog. Teacher Amanda Lee, the district’s 2024 Elementary Teacher of the Year, uses Jameson to support students with disabilities as they practice speech, social skills, and calm routines through everyday interactions with their new four-legged classmate.
