• Hill Country Rescue & Recovery to launch microchip scanning stations in Hays County (haysfreepress.com) — Lost pets in Buda could soon get home faster thanks to new microchip scanning stations planned at local fire stations as part of a Hays County-wide rollout. Hill Country Rescue & Recovery is fundraising and partnering with fire departments and businesses to install about 14–20 stations starting in early to mid-May, aiming to cut shelter intake and empower residents to help strays.
