Leander ISD surplus auction ends Oct. 6 (hillcountrynews.com) — Leander ISD is auctioning surplus kitchen equipment, furniture, band instruments and a digital piano in an online sale that ends Oct. 6, with previews and pickups at the district warehouse on Cougar Country Drive in Cedar Park. Locals can book appointments to inspect items Oct. 1 and must schedule pickup slots Oct. 7-9 if they win bids online.
   

2. Austin-area road closures: Low-water crossings impacted (mysanantonio.com) — Flooding from heavy rain has closed several low-water crossings around the Austin region, including 2400 Sumac Lane in Cedar Park as of Thursday afternoon. Officials urge drivers to check real-time closure maps and avoid high-water areas before commuting. Additional closures are reported in Austin, Georgetown, and Marble Falls, and conditions may change quickly with more storms expected.
   

3. Local fall events across Central Texas (communityimpact.com) — Cedar Park families have two nearby pumpkin-filled outings this month, with First United Methodist's pumpkin patch and A Child's Haven Preschool's fall festival both set at 600 W. Park St. and running through or on Oct. 17.
