• SL 500, South U.S. 96 Scene of Two-Vehicle Crash (scttx.com) — A Wednesday morning crash at State Loop 500 and U.S. 96 South in Center sent a Louisiana driver to Shelby Emergency Department after a pickup reportedly ran a red light. Center Police say no citations were issued, and DPS troopers assisted at the scene as both vehicles came to rest off the roadway. 
• Shelby County Commissioners' Court Notice of Special Meeting, April 22 Agenda (scttx.com) — Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will hold a special meeting April 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the courthouse on San Augustine Street in Center. Commissioners will handle routine bills and payroll, consider court coordinator staffing and pay, discuss opioid litigation settlements, a road closure request, a drainage study role, and a property tax exemption for The Crayon Box Childcare Center.
• Recall Expanded for Chicken and Pork Fried Rice, Ramen, Shu Mai Products Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination (scttx.com) — Frozen chicken and pork fried rice, ramen, and shu mai linked to a major glass-contamination recall were sold at the Walmart on Hurst Street in Center. Residents are urged to check their freezers, avoid eating affected products, and either discard them or return them to the store for safety.
