Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD is replacing all of its librarians with paras (tspantx.com) — Families in Cibolo’s Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD will see major changes this fall, as every campus library shifts from certified librarians to paraprofessionals to save money. District leaders say no one lost employment and libraries will stay open, but former staff and advocates worry students will miss out on expert research and information-skills support.

Man threatened to kill girlfriend and her family if she tried to leave his house: Police (lawandcrime.com) — A woman told police she recently lived at a man’s home in Cibolo, where he allegedly kept her from leaving and threatened her life if she tried. The situation reportedly escalated to a gun confrontation at a San Antonio truck stop, leading to his arrest on a kidnapping charge and detention on bond.

UIL set to vote on major Texas varsity football 7 on 7 camp change (on3.com subscription) — Cibolo’s Steele High School football team just won a seven‑on‑seven tournament at a Texas A&M camp, even under current rules that bar their coaches from instructing them there. Now the UIL is weighing a rule change that could soon let high school coaches guide their own players during these summer events statewide.

Details revealed in fatal Budget Inn shooting in north Austin (kxan.com) — Cibolo residents should know that local officers arrested a murder suspect here two days after a deadly shooting at a Budget Inn in north Austin. Investigators say video and paperwork tied the 24-year-old to the attack, and he now faces murder and aggravated assault charges after the victim later died from brain injuries.
