• Closed door slowed house fire (ramblernewspapers.com) — Coppell firefighters recently knocked down a house fire in Station 1's district, crediting a closed bedroom door with slowing the flames. Investigators say an improperly placed, charging lithium-ion device likely sparked the blaze, and the department is urging residents to keep chargers on hard, flat surfaces and unplug devices once they're full.
