Jean-Yves Thibaudet — “the most soulful of players” (Gramophone) — returns to the DSO to perform Liszt’s luminous concerto, a work of power that flows in one continuous river of sound.
Be whisked away to Golden Age Vienna as two composers pay homage to the city’s waltz tradition. A collection of Johann Strauss, Jr.’s lilting dances also receives an intimate reimagining in Schoenberg’s arrangements for chamber orchestra.
