Dallas District 4 Residents Can Celebrate Earth Day with Tree Giveaway
Here's how to take part in the neighborhood beautification event.
Residents of Dallas' City Council District 4 can celebrate Earth Day a little early by acquiring a free tree from the city. Here's how to grab one.
The city issued a press release about the event on Thursday. According to the press release, the Earth Day Tree Giveaway will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m.-noon at the District 4 Community Office (4478 S. Marsalis Ave.).
Council Member Maxie Johnson is hosting the event in partnership with BellaGreen American Bistro and the Texas Tree Foundation. All of the trees are free and will make the district greener, healthier, and more beautiful.

"Trees improve air quality, provide shade, reduce energy costs, and strengthen neighborhood beautification efforts making them a lasting investment in the future of our community," the press release states. "Come celebrate Earth Day with us, pick up your free tree, and help us continue Building the Community with the Community.
On April 20, multiple City of Dallas departments will celebrate Earth Day by attending the EarthX2026 Congress of Congresses at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.

EarthX2026 is a conference that brings together scientists, conservationists, academics, entrepreneurs, and other advocates to discuss sustainability and the environment.
Residents can visit the city teams in attendance as they discuss departmental programs, sustainability, and environmental initiatives.
Teams on-site that day are to include Aviation; Code Compliance; Dallas 311; Dallas Park and Recreation; DWU Defend Your Drains; Floodplain Management, Stormwater Compliance, and Water Conservation divisions; Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability Comprehensive Environmental Climate Action Plan and Urban Agriculture programs; and Dallas Sanitation.
