North Texas Could See Storm Activity on Tuesday

North Texas could see more isolated to scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the forecast on Monday afternoon.

According to the bulletin, a few strong storms with 50+ mph wind gusts, heavy rain, and frequent lightning could occur.

Otherwise, residents should expect typical summer temperatures with highs in the 90s.

Be ready to alter any outdoor plans, and remember to never cross flooded roads.

Boaters should know the forecast before heading out, keep a portable radio in the boat, and be prepared to head to shore if the skies turn threatening.

A strengthening high pressure aloft will shut off rain chances for a few days during the middle to end of the week. Highs should be in the 95-101 degree range and lows will range from 75-80.

As such, the NWS reminds residents to protect themselves, family members, and friends from the heat and sun. Stay hydrated, limit strenuous activities, and take breaks in the shade as often as possible.

As always, never leave kids or pets unattended in vehicles. Make sure to look in the backseat before locking and leaving a vehicle. Heat-related deaths are preventable.
