• Mexican national sentenced to 27 years for major cocaine, cash smuggling operation (fox26houston.com) — A man tied to a cross-border cocaine and cash smuggling operation has been sentenced in federal court in Del Rio to more than 27 years in prison. Investigators say he moved cocaine to Dallas and bulk cash back toward the border, with searches uncovering drugs and nearly $100,000 in suspected trafficking proceeds. Federal agents and prosecutors based in the Western District of Texas handled the case.
