• D'Hanis ISD Elementary Principal lone finalist for Superintendent post (hondoanvilherald.com) — D’Hanis families will see a major school leadership change as Elementary Principal Lauren Busse has been named the lone finalist to become the next D’Hanis ISD superintendent, succeeding Brian Thompson after his planned Dec. 31, 2026 retirement. Busse, a Hondo native and three-year D’Hanis elementary principal, brings 16 years of experience in Hondo ISD and has twin daughters attending D’Hanis High School.
