Funded largely by federal dollars through a new state program, the project will remove a dangerous at-grade crossing and improve access to TTUHSC El Paso and nearby medical and research facilities.

El Paso man indicted; accused of trying to run over a bike cop during traffic stop (kfoxtv.com) — An El Paso man has been indicted after allegedly trying to run over a bicycle officer during an April traffic stop near the El Paso Convention Center on West San Antonio Avenue. Prosecutors charged 31-year-old Jacob Wayne Williams with aggravated assault on a public servant and two counts of evading arrest, after police say he fled onto a sidewalk, ran a stop sign, and later abandoned his vehicle.

Developing: One person airlifted to hospital after Northeast El Paso crash (cbs4local.com) — One person was airlifted in critical, life-threatening condition after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night at McCombs and Dyer in Northeast El Paso, according to the fire department. The FireSTAR response sent the victim to a local hospital, and no additional injuries were immediately reported as officials continue investigating this serious neighborhood collision.
