Leaders credit the post’s large civilian workforce and close ties with the city for improving quality of life, safety, and services for soldiers, families, retirees, and visiting civilians.
   

2. The Army wants to build a better data center. Can they do it? (defenseone.com) — Army leaders are exploring a major new data center on unused Fort Bliss land, working with El Paso utilities and a private firm to address power, water, and community concerns. Plans include generating independent power and possibly drilling a new well to support the post’s desalination plant, with potential construction jobs and a long-term tech campus on the installation.

Kennedy Jr. tells troops during Fort Carson visit (gazette.com) — Fort Bliss soldiers could soon see college-style dining options on post, as the Army plans to expand a new “campus-style” food program now being tested at Fort Carson. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. praised the healthier, fresher meals there and said the model should roll out to Fort Bliss, Fort Campbell, Fort Irwin, and overseas bases to improve nutrition and potentially cut costs.

GAO report blasts ICE camp at Fort Bliss over deaths, waste (prismnews.com) — A new GAO report says the ICE-run Camp East Montana at Fort Bliss opened before it was ready, wasting millions while detainees faced unsafe conditions and three deaths in just over six months. Investigators found missing evidence, security gaps, medical and sanitation failures, and costly contracting mistakes, even as lawsuits and community pressure over the Fort Bliss facility continue to grow.
