ā¢ US Army tests 'Golden Shield autonomous C-UAS capabilities (unmannedairspace.info) ā Fort Hood soldiers recently hosted a major āGolden Shieldā live-fire exercise, where the 1st Cavalry Division tested new autonomous systems to detect and shoot down hostile drones. Over several days, Army developers and industry partners linked sensors and weapons on tactical vehicles to speed up response times and reduce soldiersā workload, generating data that will shape how these counter-drone tools are fielded in armored units.

ā¢ āBest drone' innovation winner developing enemy drone recovery system with the Army Research Lab (defenseone.com) ā A new drone training center is being developed at Fort Hood where a top Army drone operator is designing multi-level courses to train future pilots. The project grew out of the Armyās first Best Drone Warfighter competition, which also sparked collaboration with the Army Research Lab on an AI-powered system to recover downed enemy drones. ā¢ Family seeks answers in Killeen death of 20-year-old Argentine woman (kxxv.com) ā A Killeen death investigation with close ties to Fort Hood is drawing renewed attention as the family of 20-year-old Lucila Nieva seeks legal help and answers. Nieva, who married a Fort Hood soldier, died from a gunshot wound in their Killeen apartment, and relatives say Fort Hood officials told them charges were dropped while an additional Army forensic review continues.
