Fort Worth Business Plan Competition Accepting Applications

The last day is June 13.

The City of Fort Worth's Business Plan Competition is heating up, with the application period open from now until June 13.

The city published a blog post with more details earlier this week. according to the post, the city is now accepting applications for small businesses that want to be part of the 2026 cohort.

Sponsored by Frost Bank, the competition is one of several ways that the city works to stimulate small business. Research indicates that written business plans help entrepreneurs earn more revenue and create more jobs.

During the competition, participants will go through several weeks of workshops and coaching sessions to help them develop a comprehensive business plan that covers everything from market competitiveness to financial outlooks. The ultimate goal is for participants to learn the business inside and out.

Ultimately, the participants will put everything they've learned to the test during a final Pitch Night, with a total of $20,000 in cash prizes on the line.

Applicants must have been in business for between 2-5 years, have a physical business address located within Fort Worth city limits, and earn an annual revenue of less than $1 million. Businesses that do not meet those criteria are not eligible.

The top 20 applicants will be announced in late June.

Applications for the Fort Worth Business Plan Competition are open on the city's website. The application period closes at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, June 13.
