• Blankenship pleads guilty and receives 8 years in prison (kjas.com) — A man last seen in Kirbyville in 2022, Joshua Larkin of Newton County, remains missing and presumed dead, but one defendant has now pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and received eight years in prison. Other suspects still face murder and tampering charges as investigators, including the Newton County sheriff, continue searching for Larkin’s remains.
