• Judson school district cuts 536 jobs, moves toward balanced budget (star-telegram.com) — Judson ISD, which serves students in Live Oak, is cutting 536 positions and closing four campuses to erase a $35 million budget deficit and balance next year’s budget. Most cuts will come from campus-based jobs and unfilled positions, with limited layoffs expected. Students from closing schools will be rezoned to nearby campuses, changing bus routes and daily routines for many Live Oak families.
