• Llano County now in screwworm ‘surveillance zone' (dailytrib.com) — Southwest Llano County has been placed in a New World screwworm Adjacent Surveillance Zone after a confirmed case in neighboring Gillespie County, and local animal owners are urged to closely monitor and promptly treat any wounds. While there are no movement restrictions in Llano County yet, state and federal agencies are already dispersing sterile flies and asking residents to report suspicious infestations on livestock or wildlife to dedicated hotlines.
