The city is also exploring a median on RR 1431, better signal synchronization, and other traffic changes that could affect how you move around town this summer and beyond. 
• Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge expands by 293 acres in Burnet County (dailytrib.com) — A 293-acre expansion of Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge has been added along RR 1431 just outside Marble Falls, strengthening habitat for the endangered golden-cheeked warbler. While this new tract isn’t yet open to the public, it bolsters nearby protected lands and supports the broader Highland Lakes ecosystem that Marble Falls residents enjoy for hiking, birding, and outdoor recreation.
• Local farm stands on the grow (dailytrib.com) — You can now pick up pasture-raised eggs daily at Flat Rock Creek Ranch on Shovel Mountain Road in Marble Falls, or find their meats and eggs at the Downtown Marble Falls Farmers Market on Tuesday evenings.
