Mission coffee shop remains open after break-in leaves thousands of dollars in damages (krgv.com) ā A Mission coffee shop, Twisted Sistas Co. on Business 83, is staying open after a late-Wednesday break-in shattered its front door and led to about $2,000 in damage and losses. Staff say theyāre adding more security cameras and are leaning on strong customer support while police work to identify whoever threw a rock through the glass and stole the cash register.

Ranking puts South Texas near bottom for new businesses (mysanantonio.com) ā Mission ranks near the bottom nationally for small cities to start a business, according to a new WalletHub study comparing more than 1,300 communities. The analysis suggests local entrepreneurs face a weaker business environment than many peers, though Missionās costs and access to resources are mid-range. The piece also compares Missionās scores with nearby Valley cities like Pharr and Edinburg.

Monie leads UTSA throwers at Pacific Coast Invitational (goutsa.com) ā Mission native and UTSA thrower Daisy Monie just delivered a career-best shot put of 16.71 meters, now ranking No. 2 all-time for the Roadrunners. Competing at the Pacific Coast Invitational in California, she also posted a strong discus mark and continues to lead the American Conference standings heading into the Mt. SAC Relays and postseason meets.
