The final tax rate will depend on certified values from the Montgomery County Assessor before trustees vote in August. Earlier voter-approved tax changes and retention stipends also factor into the district’s finances.
   

• Former Employee Accused of Stealing Over $460,000 From Montgomery County Real Estate Business (meigsindypress.com) — Law enforcement in Montgomery County, Texas say a former employee of a local real estate firm is accused of diverting more than $460,000 in company checks into her personal account over two years. Deputies arrested the Harris County woman on a first-degree felony theft charge, and the criminal investigation into the alleged embezzlement is still underway.
