• Newton police arrest suspect in connection with May hit and run (kjas.com) — Newton Police have arrested a suspect in a May hit-and-run that left a Newton resident critically injured near the Sunshine Convenience Store on Highway 87. Working with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, investigators located a damaged truck hidden in a barn and obtained a felony warrant before the suspect turned himself in; the victim remains under medical care.
