Phillips 66 gives $10,000 to help Meals on Wheels of Odessa (yourbasin.com) — Meals on Wheels of Odessa just received a $10,000 boost and volunteer help from Phillips 66, but the program still can't keep up with demand from local seniors. With grocery prices squeezing residents on fixed incomes, the nonprofit has even started a waiting list and is urgently asking Odessans to step up as volunteers or donors.
   

4. Ector County Felony Dispositions: September 25, 2026 (oaoa.com) — Ector County courts have finalized several serious felony cases that matter to Odessa residents' sense of safety, including prison terms for aggravated assault, drug manufacturing, and child exploitation offenses. Some charges were dismissed for reasons like insufficient evidence or missing victims, while others led to deferred adjudication and community service, reflecting a range of outcomes in recent prosecutions.
   

5. GoFundMe created after former Odessa police officer killed in motorcycle crash (yourbasin.com) — A GoFundMe has been launched to support the family of former Odessa police officer Miguel Rodriguez, who died after a motorcycle crash on Business I-20 in Midland County. The 40-year-old father of four, remembered as a devoted parent and provider, leaves his wife facing new financial pressures, and organizers are asking Odessans to help with living expenses.
