1. Port Arthur man dies in Orange motorcycle crash (panews.com) — A Port Arthur motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV at FM 105 and Oilla Road in Orange on Saturday evening, June 6. Orange police say the rider, 42-year-old Jarrett Graff-Gutierrez, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the SUV driver stayed and cooperated as the investigation continues.

2. Prostate cancer screenings offered at no cost across Southeast Texas (beaumontenterprise.com) — Men in Orange can get free prostate and health screenings on July 11 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas’ Orange campus, part of Gift of Life’s 2026 Men’s Health initiative. The program offers lab tests, physician consultations, referrals, and wellness education, plus food and grocery support. Similar events are also scheduled in Lumberton, Port Arthur and Beaumont this summer.

3. Orange police arrest three after searches at two residences (12newsnow.com) — Police in Orange arrested three people after searching two homes on Bolton Street and Inwood Drive as part of a narcotics investigation. Officers say they seized methamphetamine, cocaine and firearms, and allege two suspects were distributing drugs within the city. The ongoing investigation involves the City of Orange Narcotics Division, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and West Orange Police Department.

4. Orange County pastor urges safe spaces to curb teen violence this summer (kfdm.com) — With summer starting, an Orange County pastor is using a basketball program at North Early Learning Center in Orange to keep West Orange teens safe and engaged. Pastor Rickey Guillory focuses on structure, mentorship and life lessons to steer youth away from violence in Orange and Beaumont. Participants say the program keeps them out of trouble and focused on bigger goals.

5. County's Largest Drainage Project (kogt.com) — Orange County officials have announced the county’s largest-ever drainage project, a 400‑acre, 17‑foot detention pond with a pump station on the west side of the county. The more than $30 million effort aims to reduce major flooding for areas around Tiger Creek, Pine Forest, west Vidor and nearby neighborhoods. Construction is expected to take a couple of years to complete.
