• Cooper Bott Wins Top Prize at Schmidt Vocal Arts' Fifth Annual National Vocal Competition (operawire.com) — A young bass-baritone from Pearland, James Williams, just earned third place and $5,000 at Schmidt Vocal Arts’ national high school vocal competition, and he’s headed to Juilliard as a Kovner Fellow. The contest drew top teen singers from across the country, with finalists sharing more than $5 million in long-running scholarship support.

Consultants say that if similar steps spread nationwide, healthcare providers could save millions and shrink their environmental footprint, all through relatively simple operational changes that don’t compromise patient care.
