• Musical ‘Mexodus' loops in the journey of enslaved freedom seekers below the border (latimes.com subscription) — San Juan’s Jackson Ranch Church and Martin Jackson Cemetery were recently recognized by the National Park Service as a historic gateway to freedom for enslaved people escaping to Mexico. That local landmark is part of the wider, little-known southbound Underground Railroad history explored in the new musical “Mexodus,” now available as an enhanced audio production and heading to the Pasadena Playhouse this summer.
