San Antonio considers 140+ fee increases in new budget (ksat.com) — San Antonio leaders are weighing more than 140 new or higher city fees, from trash pickup and EMS transport to airport parking and short-term rental permits, as part of the proposed FY 2027 budget. The changes could raise nearly $99 million and include possible higher property taxes, with final council votes set for September and public budget halls underway this week.
   

2. Johnson Homers Again, Missions Walk Off Nats, 6-5 (mlb.com) — San Antonio Missions fans saw a dramatic 6–5 walk-off win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at Wolff Stadium, capped by a late ninth-inning rally. The Double-A series continues in San Antonio with another 7:05 p.m. first pitch, giving local baseball fans more chances to catch the Missions at home.
   

3. San Antonio newlyweds could become America's Favorite Couple (mysanantonio.com) — A Texas couple with ties to the San Antonio area, Víctor and Glenda de León, have reached the quarterfinals of a national "America's Favorite Couple" contest. Recently married after reconnecting decades later, they're asking supporters in San Antonio and across South Texas to vote online through August 27 to help them advance.
   

4. San Antonio man gets 21 years for sexually exploiting Minnesota girl, 11 (fox9.com) — A San Antonio man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in federal prison after authorities traced an online child exploitation case in Minnesota back to his home here. Investigators say the case underscores how online abuse can cross state lines and stress continued collaboration between local police, the FBI, and national child protection groups.
