• Traffic shift begins Aug. 8 at Texas City Wye (galvnews.com) — Drivers who use the Texas City Wye need to prepare for a major change: the westbound Highway 146 connector to southbound I-45 will permanently close the night of Aug. 8, with lane reductions and detours lasting about two years. Southbound I-45 will be cut to one lane between FM 519 and Tiki Drive that weekend, and Texas City-area motorists will have to use new U-turn routes or longer detours while the $226 million widening project continues.
