• Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD is replacing all of its librarians with paras (tspantx.com) — Families in Universal City’s school district will see big changes in campus libraries this fall, as Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD replaces all certified librarians with lower-paid paraprofessionals to cut costs. District leaders say no one is being laid off and libraries will stay open, but former and current educators worry students will lose expert help with research, reading guidance, and navigating information responsibly. 
• Recently hired volleyball coach loses job following arrest (elgincourier.com) — A former coach at Universal City’s Randolph High School has lost a new job in Bastrop ISD after being arrested on a felony charge alleging an improper relationship with a student. District leaders say undisclosed information surfaced after hiring, leading them to cut ties before she ever started at Cedar Creek High School. The charge remains pending and few other details have been released.
