Susan Armstrong Cain joins Victoria College Board of Trustees (crossroadstoday.com) — Victoria residents have a new representative on Victoria College's Board of Trustees, as lifelong local Susan Armstrong Cain has been sworn in to fill the District 5 seat long held by Ron Walker. With deep ties to Victoria businesses and nonprofits, she's expected to bring both community and professional experience to decisions shaping the college's growth and support for local students. 
2. Warrior's Weekend in need of volunteer boat captains (crossroadstoday.com) — Volunteer boat captains from Victoria are urgently needed for November's Warrior's Weekend, which takes hundreds of combat-wounded veterans fishing out of Port O'Connor. Locals with boats can donate their time and vessels, no Coast Guard license required, by registering at warriorsweekend.org to support a major veterans-focused tradition in the Crossroads region.
3. Buckingham highlights GLO projects in Crossroads (victoriaadvocate.com) — In a visit to Victoria Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham outlined how General Land Office projects on flood mitigation, hurricane preparedness, and energy development could benefit the Crossroads and local districts like Victoria ISD. She highlighted billions in disaster recovery and school funding, plus new energy and mineral initiatives that may shape future infrastructure and education resources in the area.
4. For National Migration Week, bishops urge policy that upholds 'God-given human dignity' (stlouisreview.com) — Victoria's Bishop Brendan Cahill, who leads the Diocese of Victoria, is urging U.S. leaders during National Migration Week to craft immigration policies that protect families and respect migrants' God-given dignity. As he prepares to become bishop of Joliet, he's also calling Catholics, including those in Victoria, to support migrants through prayer, education, and local ministries.
