Suarez, who has anxiety, depression, and diabetes, often walks in local parks like Isaac Rodriguez Park. Anyone who may have seen him is urged to call Weslaco police at 956-968-8591.

Heart of the Valley: Weslaco diabetes clinic introduces AI system to streamline patient care (krgv.com) — A Weslaco diabetes clinic has rolled out a new AI assistant named Rita to speed up check-ins, cut paperwork, and support patients after their visits. Valley Diabetes and Endocrinology is the first in the Rio Grande Valley to use this system, which developers say can shrink some tasks from 40 minutes to under five while keeping human staff in charge of care decisions.
3. A cheerleader with no heart history died after drinking an energy drink, and her family's lawyers want everyone to read the warning on the can (attackofthefanboy.com) — A Weslaco family has filed a $1 million wrongful death lawsuit after 17-year-old cheerleader and student council president Larissa Nicole Rodriguez died from cardiomyopathy linked to excessive caffeine from Alani Nu energy drinks. The case highlights concerns about energy drink marketing to teens, warning-label visibility, and medical guidance that young people should avoid highly caffeinated beverages altogether.
4. New details in case of Texas doctor detained by ICE (mysanantonio.com) — A Venezuelan doctor who practiced at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco is being released from ICE detention after being stopped at a Sarita checkpoint while moving to Houston. He had been working in an underserved South Texas community under a work permit and residency program, and local advocates and lawmakers pushed for his release while another Valley-based Venezuelan doctor remains detained.
