The Woodlands Fire: 1 dead following house fire, firefighter taken to hospital (fox26houston.com) — One person died and a firefighter was hospitalized after a house fire Wednesday in a neighborhood near Mill Bend, Grogans Mill, Treeridge Place, and Wild Wind Place in The Woodlands. Firefighters encountered heavy flames and a collapsing second-floor garage apartment before later finding a victim inside, while investigators continue to search for the cause. 
2. Bond projects near completion in Conroe, Montgomery, Willis ISDs (communityimpact.com) — Major Conroe ISD bond projects are nearing completion, including renovations at McCullough Junior High on South Panther Creek and upgrades to the South Agriculture Facility on Pruitt Road in The Woodlands. Families can expect refreshed classrooms, new facilities, and added capacity across nearby campuses as several projects wrap up in August 2026 and others open through 2027.
3. The Woodlands is giving Houston $50 million. Here's what it gets back. (houstonchronicle.com) — A $50 million deal with Houston could permanently shield The Woodlands from annexation while letting the township keep more future sales tax revenue. Township leaders have unanimously approved the agreement, which would give Houston immediate access to regional participation funds and new payments, but the proposal still needs Houston City Council's final sign-off.

The Woodlands Township Board to hold Special Meetings: Budget Adoption and Public Hearing on Tax Rate (hellowoodlands.com) — The Woodlands Township Board will meet on September 3 to adopt the 2027 budget and hold a public hearing on the 2026 property tax rate at its Technology Forest Boulevard offices.
