Current Boutique is hosting a free Sip &amp; Shop on Friday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at its King Street boutique in Old Town Alexandria, with complimentary refreshments, personal styling and a curated Halloween rack of pieces meant to inspire costume ideas.The event is part of the boutique's Styling Series, a rotating program of free after-hours styling evenings held across its four Washington-area locations. Guests can browse fall arrivals at consignment prices, work one-on-one with the store's styling team and get first look at the Halloween selection, which is out for one night only.Current Boutique has served the Washington region for nearly 20 years as a luxury consignment retailer, with shops in Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown, Clarendon and 14th Street NW. Ch/Art (Chevy Chase Art), the only nonprofit community arts organization serving Chevy Chase, DC and Maryland, invites the public to its 7th Annual Art Walk on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.&nbsp;
Over two inspiring afternoons, 86 talented local artists will welcome visitors to 35 homes throughout Chevy Chase to meet the artists, hear the stories behind their work, and discover unique pieces available for purchase.&nbsp; Visitors are invited to stroll, bike, or drive using our Art Walk<a href="https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/2/edit?mid=1rI_Hlm5UGMQWi1DlbaBmodLwz2h4F5M&amp;ll=38.97139604416001%2C-77.07365895000001&amp;z=14" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"> map</a> to navigate.
Whether you're an avid collector, looking for the perfect gift, or simply seeking a fun weekend outing, the Art Walk offers something for everyone. Explore an impressive variety of artistic styles and media, including abstract and representational painting, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, photography, fiber art, and mixed media.&nbsp;

The Alexandria A Cappella Collective is excited to announce that registration is open for the ’26-’27 season of its youth chorus, Capital Force! Students learn barbershop from top educators and will perform locally and on the Barbershop Harmony Society International stage at Virginia Beach in February in the beautiful Sandler Center for the Performing Arts.Join the kickoff rehearsal

The kickoff meeting on October 18 includes voice placement, an informal audition, vocal warm-ups, and singing together. You will also learn about the season’s dates and rehearsal expectations. Interested singers are welcome to register and try the first rehearsal before deciding whether to join.
Who can join?
Capital Force welcomes singers in grades 7-12 from the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Seventh graders are considered on a case-by-case basis with a recommendation from a parent and teacher.
Location and registration
Rehearsals take place in Alexandria. For participant safety, the exact rehearsal location is emailed to registered participants.
