Sally Richter – Community Advocate & Entrepreneur

Sally Richter is a passionate community leader and small-business owner based in Atlantic, Iowa. She is the founder and driving force behind The Gathering, a volunteer-led initiative serving free community meals to Cass County neighbors every other Monday. What began as a simple idea to help others has grown into an outreach effort serving hundreds of meals at a time — built on warmth, hospitality, and genuine care.

Sally believes no one should have to choose between food and dignity. Through The Gathering, she has united volunteers, local businesses, churches, and donors to create a welcoming space where neighbors can share a meal, conversation, and support — no questions asked.

In addition to her nonprofit work, Sally is co-owner of Richter Properties LC along with Richter & Son Towing Inc. and operates 322 Kravings Freeze Dried & More. She is deeply rooted in her faith, family, and community, and is known for her tireless energy, generous heart, and ability to bring people together.

For Sally, serving others isn’t just an event — it’s a calling.
