Always putting others first and feeling exhausted, resentful, or disconnected from yourself?Join licensed therapist Candice Coughenour for a free community workshop designed for people who are ready to stop abandoning themselves in the name of keeping the peace.This will be a space to connect with others on a similar journey, learn more about people pleasing, and begin understanding the patterns that keep you stuck. Together, we’ll explore practical concepts and actionable steps that can help you increase your consideration of self without sacrificing meaningful relationships.You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of people pleasing, greater confidence in recognizing your own patterns, and tangible tools you can begin using right away to create more authentic, connected relationships.This workshop may be a good fit if you:

Come to the Library for an afternoon of board gaming!You can also come if you are interested in learning how to play Euro board games. Join certified yoga instructor Leah Shuck for a gentle, slower flow yoga practice every second and fourth Monday evening!Mindful yoga is a rewarding way to exercise while reducing stress and centering your mind. Please bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and something to use as a strap (an old scarf, belt, or necktie work just fine!). You are also welcome to bring a block, blanket, bolster, etc if you wish. If you don’t have a yoga mat, we have a few available to borrow.This is a pay-what-you-can class where participants can pay $0-$15, with a suggested donation of $10 per class. Look sharp – it’s a hands-on workshop on sharpening and caring for your knives! A well-sharpened edge is much safer and more effective than a dull one, and with a little guidance, anyone can learn to keep their knife edges in excellent condition. Experienced sharpener Dennis Snedden will teach participants how to keep their own knives sharp and ready to use.Each participant should bring two or three 5″-10″ kitchen knives (non-serrated); a diamond, oil, or water stone (if you have one); a honing rod or steel (if you have one); your knife edge questions; and a will to learn! You will learn the best and safest techniques for honing a fine edge. Come with dull knives – leave with safer, sharper, functional edges!No ceramic knives, hair or sewing scissors.<a href="https://acfree.librarycalendar.com/event/knife-sharpening-dennis-snedden-whetstone-tips-tools-techniques-8269" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">A suggested donation of $15 will be put towards funding the 2027 Summer Reading Program.
